Dubai’s Emaar seeks consultants for new high-rise tower

Dubai-based Emaar Properties has contacted consultancy firms to work on its new high-rise tower planned for Dubai Creek Harbour, MEED reported Wednesday.

The tower, designed to have the world’s highest observation deck, will be at least 634 meters tall and was designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava.

Dubai Creek Harbour is being developed by Emaar and Dubai Holding. According to Emaar, the scheme will be three times larger than the Downtown District upon completion.

The iconic tower was described by Sheikh Mohammed as an "architectural wonder that will be as great as Burj Khalifa and Eiffel Tower."

Calatrava's designs include the World Trade Centre Transportation Hub in New York, the Chicago Spire Tower, and the Olympic Sports Complex in Athens.
