Abdullah Al Othaim Markets Co., a leading supermarket chain in Saudi Arabia, has opened two new stores in Egypt, the Riyadh-based Al-Jazirah newspaper reported, citing the company’s chief executive Yousef Al-Gafari.
The new openings are part of the company’s strategy to expand outside the kingdom and enhance its investments in the foodstuff market, he said, adding that Al Othaim would plan to open more branches in the country this year.
Earlier this year, local media reports revealed that Al-Othaim would launch four new outlets in Egypt as part of a strategy to invest SAR 144 million in the country’s foodstuff market.
