Dubai South awards contracts worth AED 1 bln

Dubai South has awarded contracts worth AED 1 billion for several project developments, most notably in the Residential District adjoining the Expo 2020 site, UAE state news agency WAM reported.

 

Parsons Corporation, Atkins Global, Studio International Architects, Al Nasr Contracting, Tristar Engineering and Construction, and RNL Design are among the companies that have won the contracts, the statement said.

 

The Residential District in Dubai South will have around 10,000 units including villas, townhouses and apartments by 2020, housing an estimated 35,000 residents.

 

Dubai South has also awarded contracts for other districts within the development, including an infrastructure contract to Al Nasr for the Logistics District, and a contract to City Diamond Contracting to build an aerospace supply chain facility in the Aviation District.

 

Further contracts were awarded to Parsons and Kele Construction for building the first phase of Sakany Staff Village, which will accommodate 20,000 residents by 2020.
