Saudi Arabia's cabinet approved on Monday increasing visa charges and fines for some traffic violations, as part of government efforts to boost revenue amid lower oil prices.
Under the new fee system, a multiple entry visa will cost SAR 5,000 and SAR 8,000 for one and two years, respectively, state news agency SPA revealed.
A three-month multiple exit and re-entry visa will cost SAR 500. Previously, the cost of a six-month multiple entry visa stood at SAR 500.
In addition, hefty fines up to SAR 20,000 will apply to first time traffic violations. Repeat violators will see their fines doubled and cars seized.
