Astra says fire starts in Tabuk Pharmaceuticals’ Dammam plant

Astra Industrial Group was informed by its 100 percent- owned subsidiary, Tabuk Pharmaceuticals Co., that a fire erupted in the air cooling and central ventilation system of its plant in Dammam.

 

All of the plant’s production lines were halted due to the fire and the company is currently assessing the fire damage, Astra said in a statement on Tadawul.

 

The relevant financial impact will be determined in due course, and may be covered by an insurance claim.

 

The fire is expected to weigh on the plant’s production and marketing of some products till it restarts operations, the statement added.
