Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Saudi Aramco), the world’s largest oil exporter, said it is currently developing around 5,000 residential units in Jubail and Dammam, in addition to expanding existing housing complexes.

The oil company is also developing the Ajyal residential development in Dhahran, Eastern Province, under a public-private partnership (PPP) contract, state-run news agency SPA reported, citing Mohamed Al Sakkaf, senior vice president of operations and business services  at Aramco, on the sidelines of a conference in Jeddah.

The 10 million square-meter project is expected to be complete in 2020.

Earlier this year, Aramco signed a contract to build 791 homes for employees, as part of plans to build more than 8,000 homes in total, according to news reports.
