Ash-Sharqiyah Development Co. swung to a net loss of SAR 5.8 million for the first nine months of 2025, versus a net profit of SAR 8.8 million in the same period last year.

The downturn was mainly due to the absence of acquisition-related gains of more than SAR 6 million that had been booked in the prior-year period. This is besides lower returns on term deposits, on top of setting aside a SAR 1.4 million Zakat provision in 9M 2025 — versus SAR 9,047 a year earlier.
These drawbacks were partly offset by stronger revenues for the first nine months of this year. This is because subsidiary Sadu Al Arab Trading Co. commenced commercial operations in June 2024 and Al Waseet Al Barri Logistics Co. in July 2024, with the current period reflecting a full nine-month contribution from both entities.
In Q3 2025, Ash-Sharqiyah reported a net loss of SAR 498,000, against net earnings of SAR 6 million last year. This came as the company recognized Zakat during the quarter, compared to none in Q3 2024.

This was partially offset by higher quarterly revenues, driven by increased sales from subsidiary Sadu Al Arab, supported by stronger purchasing-finance initiatives.
Ash-Sharqiyah had recorded SAR 318,000 in net earnings in Q2 2025.
Total shareholders’ equity (no minority interest) stood at SAR 352.5 million by Sept. 30, 2025, compared to SAR 374.6 million a year earlier.
