US oil rig count rises for second straight week: Baker Hughes

The number of oil drilling rigs in the US increased during the week ending Dec. 12, extending the rise for a second consecutive week, and signaling a potential increase in crude oil production going forward.

 

The US oil rig count rose one unit to 414 this week, data released on Friday by Baker Hughes showed.

 

Meanwhile, the number of natural gas rigs declined by two units to 127 over the same period.
