US oil rig count rises: Report

The number of oil drilling rigs in the United States increased during the week ended Dec. 23, signaling the potential for higher oil supplies in the future.

 

Data released on Dec. 23 by Baker Hughes showed that the US oil rig count rose by three rigs to 409 this week.

 

Meanwhile, the number of natural gas drilling rigs remained unchanged at 127 during the same period, according to the data, which is usually published on Fridays but was released on Tuesday due to the Christmas holiday.
