Foreign investments in Saudi Arabia hit SAR 1.78 trln in 2019

Foreign investment in Saudi Arabia increased by 14% year-on-year (YoY) to around SAR 1.78 trillion in 2019, compared to SAR 1.56 trillion a year earlier, based on the latest official data issued by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA).

 

 The following table illustrates the development of foreign investment in the Kingdom:

Foreign direct investments (FDI) accounted for 50% of total foreign investments in the Kingdom, equivalent to SAR 885.6 billion.

 

Portfolio investments hit SAR 477.35 billion, while other investments stood at SAR 416.8 billion.
