Saudi Arabia records 3,580 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday

The total number of coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia increased by 3,580 to 209,509 as of Sunday, July 5, the Ministry of Health announced today.

 

Recoveries reached 1,980, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 145,236, representing 69% of total registered cases.

 

Fifty-eight new death cases were reported, while the death toll hit 1,916.

 

The total active cases currently receiving treatment amounted to 62,357 cases, of which 2,283 are critical.

 

In addition, a total of 332 cases were reported in Riyadh, followed by Al Taif (271), Khamis Mushait (242), Makkah (230), and Dammam (206).

 

A total of 52,135 tests were conducted today, bringing the total number of tests to 1.82 million.

 

The Ministry of Health's official spokesman, Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdulali, said that the number of critical cases averages between 2,000-2,500 cases, indicating that most of them are stable. He added that two-third of cases suffer from chronic diseases, half of them are over 60 years.
