GOSI says Saudi workers to receive SANED support for August as usual

12/07/2020 Argaam

Saudi Arabia’s General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) said that the August support for Saudi workers in the private sector – who were impacted by the COVID-19, will be disbursed to the beneficiaries registered with the Unemployment Insurance (SANED) as scheduled and as per the current rates.

As for September, support will be extended to 50% of the Saudi workers in the less-hit enterprises, and to 70% for the worst-hit entities, such as travel and reservation agencies, air transport, sports, and entertainment facilities.

The less-hit entities should cut the number of SANED eligible beneficiaries to 50% of total Saudi workers as of August 1, and before August 15. In case of non-compliance, the support request for all the entity workers will be cancelled, and the employer will pay full wages.

According to GOSI, a fulltime job will not impact the worker’s eligibility for SANED on condition that the employers pays the agreed amount with the worker.

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman recently ordered the extension of a number of government initiatives to mitigate the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on economic activities and the private sector.
