Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Interior announced, on Friday, Jan. 29, postponing the reopening of air, land, and sea ports from March 31, 2021 to 1:00 a.m., May 17, 2021, Saudi Press Agency reported.

The decision came after the companies producing the COVID-19 vaccine delayed the delivery of contracted batches at the specified time, the ministry added.

The move reflects the government's keenness to achieve high community immunity rates and low infections in the Kingdom amid the outbreak of the second wave of the epidemic in several countries.
