Saudi Customs eyes projects to boost trade, logistics: official

Saudi Customs plans to launch a number of projects to directly boost trade movement and logistics operations, including the two-hour clearance initiative, development of customs clearance entities and logistics services project, Al-Yaum newspaper reported, citing Bader Alrebdi, General Manager Business Development at Saudi Customs.

 

The two-hour customs clearance service includes the adoption of a unified hub for all customs declarations between the customs authority and other government entities, in addition to amending the related legislations.

 

The customs clearance development program includes a portal for customs brokers, launching Wassel platform for clearance facilities, and updating related regulations, along with developing qualified cadres in relevant entities.

 

Alrebdi also indicated that the customs strategy was implemented and upgraded to launch a number of projects and initiatives, in line with the goals of Vision 2030.
