AlUla airport to receive international flights

06/03/2021 Argaam

Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) gave the go-ahead for Prince Abdul Majeed Bin Abdulaziz Airport in AlUla to receive international flights.

The decision came after the airport fulfilled the operational requirements in line with the international standards and the needs of the competent authorities operating in the airport.

Since August 2019, the airport has witnessed the implementation of some development projects by the authority in cooperation with the Royal Commission for AlUla to keep pace with the expected growth of air traffic in the region, in line with Vision 2030.

The airport’s capacity has been raised from 100,000 to 400,000 passengers annually, and its area has been increased to 2.4 million square meters, GACA stated.
