Saudi women achieved a boom in entrepreneurship, as their participation in the labor market increased to more than 22% within a short period, Al Eqtisadiah newspaper reported, citing Issam Abu Sulaiman, World Bank's Regional Director for GCC.

He expects Saudi women to remarkably exceed the 30% targets of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

Saudi Arabia achieved a breakthrough in empowering women, with an increase of more than 50% over the past two years, which reflects the great reforms implemented by the government, Abu Sulaiman said.

He noted that the Kingdom recorded a significant increase in women employment rate, despite the challenges that were generally imposed due to COVID-19 pandemic.
