Oil edged higher on Wednesday ahead of the US inventories data, and amid expectations of an increase.

International benchmark Brent crude was trading down 1% at $66.88 per barrel, at 9 am Makkah time.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude fell 0.9% to $63.46 per barrel.

US crude inventories rose by 12.8 million barrels in the week to March 5, Reuters reported, citing data from the American Petroleum Institute.

Official figures on US stockpiles from the EIA are expected later today.
