The COVID-19 vaccines rolled out in Saudi Arabia showed high efficacy and safety, as it takes two weeks after vaccination for the body to build protection against infection with the pandemic, Minister of Health Tawfig Al-Rabiah said in a tweet.

Al-Rabiah called on everyone to get the vaccine, in order to protect themselves from any infection.

Saudi Arabia has administered almost 1.82 million doses of vaccine since the beginning of the inoculation campaign, Argaam reported.

Saudi Arabia’s Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) recently approved the use of AstraZeneca vaccines, in addition to those from Pfizer-BioNTech, with which the Kingdom started the vaccination campaign on Dec. 17, 2020.
