Oil prices decline; WTI nears $63

Oil prices edged lower on Monday amid a rise in COVID-19 cases in many countries, despite a higher rate of vaccinations.

 

International benchmark Brent crude was trading down 0.3% at $66.59 per barrel, at 9.49 am Makkah time.

 

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude fell 0.2% to $62.99 per barrel.

 

The International Energy Agency (IEA) is due to release on April 20, 2021, a report on global demand in 2021.

 

Baker Hughes, Halliburton and Schlumberger are expected to release their quarterly results in the next few days.
