Hani Alsayegh, Vice President of Strategic Marketing & Knowledge Management, at the National Center for Privatization & PPP (NCP), said that widely circulating information about the education departments ownership transfer is false

In an interview with Al Saudiya TV, Alsayegh said that teachers will remain staff members of the Ministry of Education and there is no tendency at the moment to transfer them to companies.

He pointed out that what is currently happening in the education sector is the awarding of infrastructure and operational projects for enterprises.

A total of 35% of the privatization programs will be equally divided between the government and private sectors by providing services, and not selling the assets of institutions.

Alsayegh further said that the privatization in the education sector will be in infrastructure, through awarding the construction and operation of schools to the private sector.

Winners will build schools within three years and operate them for 20 years but will not play any role in the educational process as teachers, students and curricula remain the property of the Ministry of Education.
