Saudi Arabia records 499 COVID-19 cases on Thursday

Saudi Arabia recorded 499 COVID-19 cases today, Aug. 19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 540,743 – the lowest level since March 25, 2021, the Ministry of Health stated.

 

Recoveries reached 877, raising the total number of recovered cases to 526,436 (96% of total COVID-19 cases).

 

The Kingdom reported 10 new deaths, with the death toll standing at 8,449.

 

Active cases totaled 5,858, of which 1,234 cases are critical.

 

Riyadh reported the highest number of COVID-19 cases at 145, followed by Makkah (84), Jazan (49), Eastern Province (46), and Asir (43).

 

The Kingdom conducted 69,990 new tests, with the total number of administered COVID-19 doses rising to 33.07 million.
