SAMA directs banks to accept digital ID of customers

The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) issued, on Sept. 9, a circular to all banks and entities under its supervision to approve the acceptance of the digital national ID of their customers on the Absher Individuals app.

This is for the transactions that do not require a photocopy of the ID, SAMA said, highlighting the need to continue assessing and reviewing the risks that may result from relying on digital ID
