Global index provider FTSE Russell set Sept. 30 as the date for a decision to upgrade Saudi Arabia's secondary debt market and include it in “FTSE Emerging Markets Government Bond Index (EMGBI)”.

In a statement, the index compiler said Saudi Arabia is on the watch list for possible reclassification and evaluation at a market accessibility level of "1".

FTSE Russell noted that the decision would be published after the US market close on that day.

According to data available on Argaam, FTSE Russell announced in March that Saudi Arabia's secondary debt market will be placed on the watch list for promotion and future inclusion in EMGBI.
