Bahri receives new VLCC ‘Rayah’ today

National Shipping Co. of Saudi Arabia (Bahri) received today, Oct. 28, a new VLCC named “Rayah” at a cost of SAR 371 million, the company said in a bourse filing.

 

In September 2019, International Maritime Industries (IMI) signed a vessel purchase agreement with Bahri and a subsequent sub-contract agreement with Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. (HHI) to build one 319,000 DWT Class Crude Oil Carrier, according to data compiled by Argaam

 

In 2015, Bahri inked a contract with Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. to build five VLCCs with an option to build an additional five carriers.
