Bank AlJazira to issue Tier 2 sukuk worth SAR 2 bln

Bank AlJazira announced the issuance of Saudi Riyal-denominated Tier 2 sukuk not exceeding SAR 2 billion, according to a bourse filing today, Nov. 4.

 

The sukuk issue will be carried out through a private placement in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with a tenor of 10 years and will be callable by the bank after five years from the date of issuance.

 

AlJazira Capital and HSBC Saudi Arabia were appointed as the joint lead managers and bookrunners for the potential sukuk issue.

 

The number and value of the sukuk to be issued will be determined at a later stage subject to the market conditions.

 

The purpose of the issue is to strengthen its capital base, thus supporting its financial and strategic needs, the bank said.

 

The issue will be subject to the approval of the relevant regulatory authorities and will be made in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

 

Bank AlJazira said the announcement is not intended as an invitation or offer to purchase, acquire or subscribe to any securities.

 

Any other relevant material developments in due course as required by the relevant rules and regulations.
