CITC reveals internet speeds in Saudi Arabia for Q3 2021

The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) released its report on internet speeds in Saudi Arabia (Meqyas) for Q3 2021.

 

The report compared the speeds of service providers in the Kingdom through download, upload and 5G, ranking the best performing operators in each region, according to a statement from CITC.

 

The average download speed reached 149.06 megabits per second (Mbps), a rise of 1.36% compared to Q2 2021.

 

stc came in the first place in terms of mobile internet average download speed, with 162.34 Mbps. Meanwhile, Mobile Telecommunication Company Saudi Arabia (Zain KSA) ranked second with 135.72 Mbps, followed by Etihad Etisalat Co. (Mobily) with 121.70 Mbps.

 

Zain KSA ranked first in terms of fixed mobile internet average download speed, with 154.44 Mbps, followed by Salam (previously Integrated Telecom Co.) with 100.02 Mbps and stc with 91.48 Mbps.

 

Meanwhile, stc took the first position in terms of the mobile average download speed in all of the Kingdom's provinces, except for Riyadh and Madinah, in which Zain KSA came first among telecom operators.
