Industry ministry says Saudi Arabia has 360 mining complexes, 70 reserve sites

Saudi Arabia has 360 mining complexes and 70 mining reserve sites, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported, citing the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources.

 

Makkah has 72 mining complexes while Riyadh has 53 and Madinah (52).

 

These mining complexes extract gold, copper, zinc, aluminum, magnesium, iron, silica, gypsum, limestone, clay and various other industrial materials.

 

The ministry indicated that a mining complex is allocated for the mining activities, with the participation of a committee from the competent authorities.
