The Transport General Authority mandated car rental companies and offices under the categories “A” and “E” to issue rental contracts through Naql platform as of January 2022.

This is in accordance with Article (4) paragraph (6) of the regulations governing car rental activity and leasing broker activity and its amendments, which states linking to any electronic regulations specified by the authority, and Article (21), which states that the authorized facility must adhere to the electronic system specified by the authority, abide by the wording of the contract, and may add to it what is not contrary to its articles, after the approval of the authority has been taken.

According to data available on Argaam, the authority announced last July the application of the first phase of obligating car rental facilities to issue all contracts through Naql portal.

The second phase was introduced last September, while the third phase of the resolution was implemented from Dec. 1, 2021.
