MAWANI issues over 100 licenses to maritime agents

The Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) issued more than 100 licenses for maritime agents, Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported.

 

The authority stated that it is working on some facilities and modifications that are expected to be applied in the future to provide an appropriate environment to attract more investments in the fields of maritime transport and logistics services.

 

In November 2021, MAWANI recorded an increase in transshipment containers by 20%, or more than 442,000 standard containers, compared with a year earlier.

 

The total cargo tonnage handled at Saudi ports grew by 10.37%, or over 27 million tons, compared with a year earlier. The number of vessels also increased by 5.60% or 1,094 vessels.
