Transshipment containers at Saudi ports jumped 17% year-on-year (YoY) in March 2022 to about 503,000 standard containers, according to the monthly statistical bulletin of Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI).
The general cargo volume edged up 0.1% YoY to nearly 25 million tons in the same month.
The number of handled containers rose 2.5% to 865,000 compared with a year earlier.
Meanwhile, the number of passengers surged 84.2% YoY to 98,000, and the number of vehicles was up 15.5% YoY to 78,000.
