Technical changes and changes in business models provided new work patterns, Saudi Press Agency reported, citing Ahmed Al-Zahrani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development for Skills and Training.

He added that this placed world economies and labor markets before unprecedented challenges, including the acquisition of new skills in the labor market in line with such changes.

During his speech at the First Scientific Conference on Labor Market Research, Studies, and Indicators, Al-Zahrani indicated that, in the context of globalization, global trends are formed to affect employment structures, types of jobs and tasks.

This requires skills strategies at the national level to guarantee matching skills supply and demand in the labor market to bridge the skills gap, Al-Zahrani noted.
