The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) announced today, July 15, that the Kingdom will open its airspace for all airlines fulfilling the overflying requirements.

The authority added that the decision reflects the Kingdom's keenness to comply with the 1994 Chicago Convention that stipulates non-discrimination between civil aircraft used in international air navigation.

The decision aims to boot the Kingdom's position as a global hub connecting three continents and to enhance the international air connectivity, GACA noted.
