Saudi Arabia attracts 46 mln international, domestic tourists in H1 2022, spending totals SAR 71.2 bln

The total number of domestic and international tourists arriving in Saudi Arabia rose 45% to nearly SAR 46 billion in the first half of 2022, from SAR 31.7 billion a year earlier, the Ministry of Investment said in its December bulletin.

 

A total of 6.1 million tourists arrived in the Kingdom, of whom 3.6 million visited the Kingdom in the second quarter. Domestic tourists reached 40 million in the first half of 2022.

 

Domestic tourists stay at least one night during their trips.

Total spending by domestic tourists reached SAR 71.2 billion in the six-month period, of which international tourists accounted for SAR 27 billion, as shown in the following table:
