The Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority (GCCIA)
The Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority (GCCIA) inked five contracts with the companies implementing the electrical interconnection system between GCC states and Iraq, at a total value exceeding $200 million.
The GCCIA will extend power transmission lines over a length of 295 km, from Wafra station in Kuwait to Al-Fao station in South Iraq, to transmit 500 megawatts (MW) in Phase I, with a total of 1,800 MW, GCCIA said in a tweet.
