The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing invited the public to send their feedback on the schedule of municipal violations and penalties via Istitlaa platform until May 11.
The ministry aims to enhance compliance with municipal regulations and legislation to improve the level of services by updating the schedule of municipal violations and penalties to achieve compliance and boost support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Under the schedule, a fine of SAR 50,000 maximum was set for practicing an activity without obtaining a municipal license. Meanwhile, a penalty of SAR 5,000 maximum was determined for violating the activity practices after the license expiry.
Mischief to children's games, seats, umbrellas, kiosks, sidewalks, or fences in parks and public squares was included in the violations of mischief to public property, and a fine of SAR 1,000 was set. In addition, a penalty of SAR 1,000 was set for writing or placing posters on buildings or storefronts.
In addition, a fine of SAR 50,000 was determined for installing a mobile or antenna tower without obtaining a license. Penalties of SAR 10,000 and SAR 5,000 were also set for non-compliance with the statutory height or licensed area of towers, respectively.
