Saudi holdings of US Treasuries decline to $111.7 bln in February


Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries reached $111.7 billion in February, increasing $690 million month-on-month (MoM), new data released by the US Treasury showed.

 

The Kingdom retreated to the 17th place among the largest holders of US debt in February.

 

Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries were distributed among long-term bonds worth $99.9 billion, representing 89% of the total. This is besides short-term bonds worth $11.8 billion, accounting for 11%.

Japan was the top holder of US Treasury bonds in February with a value of $1.08 trillion. China came second, with a value of $848.8 billion, as the following table shows:
