ACWA Power gets operation certificate for phase 2 of Taweelah IWP in Abu Dhabi

ACWA Power Co. announced receiving a commercial operation certificate from Emirates Water and Electricity Co. (EWEC) for phase 2 of Al Taweelah Reverse Osmosis Independent Water Plant (IWP) in Abu Dhabi, according to a statement to Tadawul.

 

The phase 2 project has a production capacity of 378,689 cubic meters per day (m3/day) of desalinated water. In addition, phase 1 that began commercial operations on June 9, 2022, has a capacity of 454,609 m3/day, bringing the plant total capacity to 833,298 m3/day.

 

ACWA Power owns a 40% stake in the project, the statement said, adding that the relevant financial impact is expected to appear as of Q2 2023.
