MSCI enforces periodic changes to Saudi market today

MSCI Inc., the provider of research-based indexes and analytics, implements today, Aug. 31, its changes to the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul) according to its quarterly review of indices carried out on Aug. 11. 

 

As per the requirements of global index managers, the changes will be implemented today during the closing auction and trade-at-last sessions. 

 

The Power and Water Utility Company for Jubail and Yanbu (MARAFIQ) has been recently added to the MSCI World Standard Index, while The Company for Cooperative Insurance (Tawuniya) was upgraded from the MSCI Saudi Arabia Small Cap Index to the MSCI World Standard Index. 

 

Alandalus Property Co., East Pipes Integrated Co., Electrical Industries Co., Thob Al Aseel Co., and Jahez International Company for Information System Technology were added to the MSCI Saudi Arabia Small Cap Index. 

 

Meanwhile, Emaar The Economic City (Emaar EC) was excluded from the MSCI World Standard Index and added to the MSCI Saudi Arabia Small Cap Index. 

 

Accordingly, the index compiler indicated that the number of MSCI Saudi Arabia Small Cap Index constituents reached 77, while MSCI World Standard Index constituents stood at 41.
