Prices of 89 Saudi goods, services rise in September

Prices of 78 goods and services in Saudi Arabia declined year-on-year (YoY) in September, while prices of 89 out of 169 goods and services rose YoY, official data issued by the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed. 

 

Egyptian oranges reported the biggest rise of 42.99% YoY last month, followed by Al-Saffi yogurt (33.33%). The prices of local medium-sized potatoes saw the steepest drop of 26.99% YoY. 

 

Five of the 38 construction commodities rose, while 33 others declined YoY. 

 

Prices of seven fodder products rose YoY last month, while the cost of six other products fell annually. 

 

In the clothes category, prices of seven out of 10 items increased YoY, while the remaining product registered an annual decline. 

 

Prices of three out of four miscellaneous personal products climbed YoY in September, while one declined YoY. 

 

Meanwhile, prices of four detergent products rose YoY in September. 

 

Prices of two health services rose last month, while the cost of the third service fell YoY. 

 

As for maintenance and repair of personal transport equipment, two services rose YoY. 

 

Prices of the two hotel and furnished apartment services rose in September compared to a year ago. 

 

Under the tobacco categories, prices of Marlboro cigarettes remained unchanged in September YoY.
