Saudi Chemical announces accident at subsidiary firm’s reactor

Saudi Chemical Co. Holding (SCCH) announced an accident in a reactor in a production line of a factory owned by subsidiary Saudi Chemical Co. Ltd. at 2.30 am on Jan. 2 in Atshanah.

 

The accident resulted in two deaths and four people were injured, SCHC said in a statement to Tadawul today, Jan. 3.

 

Initial assessment of the damage estimated a financial impact due to cost of repairs at SAR 10 million. The authorities concerned were notified, and investigations are underway, the statement said. Repair work has started to return the damaged production line to full operation.

 

Further related developments will be announced, SCHC said.
