Commerce Ministry issues 104,000 commercial registers in Q1 2024

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Commerce issued a total of 104,000 commercial registers in Q1 2024, up 59% from 65,360 in the prior-year period, according to its quarterly bulletin on the performance of the local business sector.

 

Accordingly, the total number of commercial registers rose to about 1.46 million Kingdom-wide.

 

Geographically, Riyadh, Makkah and Eastern Province topped in terms of the number of commercial registers issued by region during the first quarter of 2024, at about 38%, 19% and 15%, respectively, as indicated in the following table:

In detail, about 24,200 of the total commercial registers issued by the ministry in Q1 2024 were for limited liability companies, with four others granted to special limited partnership (SLP) firms.

 

Further, as many as 151 commercial registers were issued for joint-stock companies, while 30 and 55 others were handed over to simplified joint-stock and general partnership firms, respectively.

 

By the end of the first quarter of 2024, total commercial registers in the Kingdom amounted to roughly 1.46 million, led by Riyadh with about 447,040, or 31%, of the total. Makkah followed with about 339,000 registers, as shown below:
