Yamama Cement to relocate factory outside Riyadh to comply with environmental rules

Yamama Cement Co is committed to relocate its cement factory in Riyadh after an alternative location has been designated to install the new factory in line with Riyadh environmental regulations, a Riyadh municipality official said.

 

The new factory is in the process of getting a license from the ministry of petroleum and mineral  resources, said Abdel Aziz al-Moqbal, vice president of Riyadh municipality council.

 

In 2012, the company was ordered to relocate its factory in Riyadh within 4 years. Yamama has a factory in south Riyadh with a capacity of  6 million tons of cement a year.
