City Cement Company said today that the fire of the power station which feeds the clinker cooler was caused by a short Circuit.

The cost of lost clinker sales is estimated at SAR 1.7m that will be realized on Q2-2014’s financials.

According to the compay’s statement on tadawul; the cement production wasn’t affected by the accident due to having enough clinker stock and the insurance coverage claim is still in process.

The cement company announced on March 4 halting the clinker’s operations due to a fire in a part of a power station feeding the clinker cooler at its plant. On March 9 the clinker unit restarted operations using alternative means; according to data available by Argaam.
