Saudi Arabia remains top oil supplier to China: data

23/03/2017 Argaam

Saudi Arabia maintained its position as China's top oil supplier in February, two months into the first OPEC output cut, despite a 13 percent decline in shipments from last year, Reuters reported.

According to data from China’s General Administration of Customs, China imported in February 4.77 million tons of crude oil from Saudi Arabia, about 1.24 million barrels per day (bpd).

Russia came second with shipments of 4.29 million ton, or 1.12 million bpd, up 4.5 percent compared to a year earlier.

Angola ranked third as its supplies fell 32 percent from a year ago to a daily 850,000 bpd.

In January, OPEC and other exporters, including Russia, struck an agreement to reduce production to ease the supply glut and rebalance the market.
