26/03/2017 Argaam

Saudi Arabia has signed an agreement worth $1.5 billion (SAR 5.6 billion) with Shanghai-based WinSun Decoration Design Engineering Co. to build residential units across the kingdom using 3D printing technology, according to a report in 3D printing news site, 3ders.org.

The kingdom has leased 100 3D printers from China to print 30 million square meters of construction projects on the kingdom in record time.

WinSun will send the printers over the next six months, the reports added.

The new technology accelerates construction processes and helps build several units on one day at a low cost.
