SNC-Lavalin bags Aramco contract for Berri oil field expansion

25/04/2017 Argaam

Canadian engineering and construction company SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. has won a contract from Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Saudi Aramco) to undertake the gas-oil plant expansion project in Berri oil field at an estimated value of $1.7 billion, unnamed sources were quoted as saying by Reuters.

Last February, unnamed sources also said that Saudi Aramco would gradually boost the crude production capacity from Berri by 250,000 barrels per day (bpd), by building drilling offshore islands.

Aramco, the world's largest crude exporter, invited bidders to submit their Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) development offers on the project, which one source estimated could cost $6 billion. These designs may take one year to be complete, the sources added.
