Saudi Arabia’s housing ministry has issued 1,320 white land tax invoices for 387.1 million square meters (sqm) of undeveloped plots of land in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam.

The Saudi city of Jeddah accounted for the largest share of taxed lands with 159.5 million sqm and 490 tax bills, the ministry said in a statement on Monday.

It was followed by Riyadh with 118 million sqm and 327 bills, and Dammam (109.5 million sqm and 503 bills).

The ministry has urged landowners to pay the required fees within one year from the invoice’s issuance.

The Kingdom issued its first white land tax bill in Riyadh in March 2017, Argaam earlier reported.
