Saudi Arabia's Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) has imposed fines of SAR 15 million on Saudi Telecom Co. (STC) and Etihad Etisalat Co. (Mobily) citing various violations, the telecom regulator said in a statement on Tuesday.

STC was fined SAR 5 million for launching an illegal promotion campaign, SAR 50,000 for failure to comply with the telecom regulator’s rules on five client complaints and SAR 10,000 for its failure to submit information required by CITC.

Meanwhile, Mobily, the Kingdom’s second-largest mobile operator, was fined SAR 10 million, for launching an illegal promotion and for its failure to comply with CITC’s National Numbering Plan.
