Saudi King Khalid Airport to have facilities for building aircraft

Saudi Arabia is planning to establish facilities at aircraft construction at King Khalid International Airport (KKIA), Prince Turki Bin Saud, president of King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), told Global Platform, Oxford Business Group (OBG).

 

The new facilities will enable the construction of Airbus 380 and Boeing 777 aircraft.

 

These plans reiterate the Kingdom’s commitment to establish an aerospace and aviation industry through strategic partnerships, Prince Turki added.

 

Meanwhile, he expected the Saudi-Ukrainian military aircraft Antonov AN-132 to hit the skies of Saudi Arabia in March 2018.

 

Last December, KACST launched the first model of the AN-132 multi-function airplane, Argaam earlier reported.
