10 things you need to know on Tadawul today

Here are a few things you need to know as Saudi stocks start trading on Thursday.

 

1) Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) has seen 15 new listings year-to-date, four times higher than the last five years’ average and the highest level in the MENA region, Nayef Al-Athel, Head of Listing at Tadawul told Argaam.

 

2) Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has discussed with Marleen Huston, chairman and chief executive of US-based Lockheed Martin, potential military partnerships between the two countries, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

 

3) Cement sales volume is expected to remain “modest” next year as slower construction activities continue to weigh down demand, Al Rajhi Capital said in its monthly sector report.

 

4) Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC) on Tuesday resumed operations at one of its facilities in Jeddah after a brief outage, Reuters reported.

 

5) Saudi Industrial Exports Co. (SIEC) has filed a lawsuit against its former board chairman, board members and executive management for excesses referred to by the external auditor.

 

6) Emaar The Economic City (Emaar EC) is set to develop a new warehousing zone in King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), SPA reported, citing the Economic Cities Authority (ECA).

 

7) Chubb Arabia Cooperative Insurance Co. has obtained final approval from Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) to sell Cyber Enterprise Risk Management Insurance in the Kingdom.

 

8) Jarir Marketing Co. (Jarir Bookstore) has appointed Abdullah bin Abdulrhman Al-Agil as a deputy chairman of the board, from Nov. 15, 2017 to March 8, 2019.

 

9) Al Tayyar Travel Group Holding Co. (Al Tayyar) said it has appointed Ahmed Samer bin Hamdi Al Zaeem as board vice chairman, until March 3, 2018.

 

10) Crude oil recovered slightly on Thursday from the declines in the previous session. Brent crude was last trading up 0.2 percent at $61.98/bbl, and WTI crude rose 0.1 percent to $55.36/bbl.
